Company ditches .goodhands domain name.

Insurance company Allstate (NYSE:ALL) has informed (pdf) domain name overseer ICANN that it no longer wishes to run the .goodhands top level domain name. It sent a termination notice to ICANN on July 13 informing it that it wants to dump the domain name. (The letter was just published.)

It doesn’t appear to have ever used the top level domain name. It only registered the obligatory domain name, which forwards to

Allstate originally applied for four top level domains: .allstate, .goodhands, .carinsurance and .autoinsurance. It withdrew the latter two applications but .allstate and .goodhands were delegated.
