Companies are buying domains in response to the pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic is driving end user domain name sales, it’s just not for garbage domain names people have registered in recent weeks.

Consider, a domain purchased by an initiative to help educate kids who are at home due to school closures. Or, which, for now, is gearing up to provide information about the pandemic.

Sedo sold for $17,500 this week. The domain sale is clearly because of the pandemic, but it’s not yet clear who bought it. VMeet .com is probably for an online conference service or something similar. It’s still pending transfer, but I suspect it’s an end user that bought this domain for $17,995.

As a side note, Sedo has a 4 Letter .com auction starting Thursday.

Here’s a look at some of the domains end users bought at Sedo this past week.
